Why Bring Yoga & Meditation to the Workplace?
Meditation has been the subject of a lot of research in the past 30 years. And the results are in, studies have proven time and time again that meditation helps to:
- Lower stress
- Increase creativity
- Increase focus
- Improve decision making
- Improve emotional intelligence
- Improve relationships
- Reduce anxiety
- Improve memory retention
... and so much more. That's why more and more companies are bringing mindfulness and meditation into the workplace. Similar to meditation, folks who practice yoga note similar effects on their stress levels, focus, and decision making.
And it makes sense that yoga and meditation during the workday would help employee productivity and retention! Of course taking a break to focus on something other than work would help us to return to work with a more level head, in a creative and focused mindset. It's like shower brain: sometimes we need to step away and take our mind off of our work in order to let in that creative spark ignite.
